Hanoi The Vietnamese women's team lost to Phu Dong men's U15 0-2 in the first practice match this afternoon, March 28, during the preparation for the 2024 Olympic qualifying round.

Despite being U15, young Phu Dong players still excel physically. In the first half, coach Mai Duc Chung used a 4-4-2 scheme and gave many young players opportunities. The defenders have Ngan Thi Thu Thuong, Hai Linh, Thuy Dung and Phuong Thao; Midfielders are Cu Thi Huynh Nhu, Ngan Thi Van Su, Thuy Trang and Hong Nhung. Meanwhile, Thanh Nha kicked a pair of strikers with Bao Chau.

Vietnamese women competed equally and actively organized attacks. However, U15 Phu Dong took advantage of a better opportunity to score two goals against goalkeeper Kieu Oanh. In the second half, Vietnam changed goalkeepers and attacking positions but did not create dangerous opportunities. U15 Phu Dong also could not maintain the same pressure as the first half.

Coach Mai Duc Chung said that after two weeks of heavy exercise, the players had not reached the point of falling. "The match helps players release inertia, find serenity," he said. Results are not focused, instead the players are asked to play comfortably, try to deploy the right tactics and assigned tasks.

The Vietnamese women have two practice matches against the former U23 team of Vietnam and Hanoi Youth on March 30 and April 1, respectively. On April 2, the team went to Nepal to compete in the first qualifying round of the 2024 Olympic Games.

Coach Mai Duc Chung has nearly enough of the strongest force except for striker Huynh Nhu, who is playing in Lank. Meanwhile, midfielder Chuong Thi Kieu has not fully recovered after surgery on both knees on September 1, 2022. Trung San in 1995 also determined that he might not attend the 32nd SEA Games.
