Thailand teachers and students Hoang Anh Tuan entered the semi-finals of Southeast Asia U23, when they beat the Philippines 1-0 in the second match of Group C on August 22.

Score: Huu Tuan 18'

Coach Hoang Anh Tuan changed eight positions compared to the starting line-up against Laos, in the context that if Vietnam lost two goals, they would still continue. However, the reserve force of Vietnam is still slightly better than the Philippines. Huu Tuan's only goal in the 18th minute helped Vietnam play leisurely for the rest of the match. Winning 1-0, Vietnam ranked first in Group C and will meet the top team of Group B, Malaysia in the semi-finals.

The mixed lineup made Vietnam enter the game somewhat cautiously and play with low professional quality. Public goods do not have the necessary harmony, often fail to pass. The defense is not under much pressure because your team also plays in a lack of cohesion. In such a match, Vietnam still opened the scoring thanks to Nguyen Huu Tuan's ability to seize good opportunities. Receiving Dang Duong's pass, player number 13 shot a dangerous touch at the edge of the penalty area, knocking down goalkeeper Mcapagal.

In this match, goalkeeper Quan Van Chuan did not play well, many times in and out was unreasonable. The Philippines had two chances from Van Chuan's mistakes, but Martin Merino missed both. In the second half of the game, the Philippines lost their strength and could no longer create good enough hits on the ball. Meanwhile, Vietnam gradually launched the pillar into the field, having many dangerous attacks but also squandering many opportunities.

Substitute players like Van Khang, Van Truong or Quoc Viet helped Vietnam dominate at the end of the match. But the highlight in the last minutes was the continuous collision phase between Van Truong and Frias. These two players often rushed into each other and provoked scuffles, even when both received yellow cards. Outside the field, coach Hoang Anh Tuan expressed dissatisfaction when the students fell into unnecessary controversial situations, in the context of winning tickets.

The score 1-0 remained unchanged until the end of the match. Vietnam ranked first in Group C with six points from two matches, meeting Malaysia in the semi-finals at 4pm on August 24. The other semi-final is the confrontation between Thailand and Indonesia, at 8 pm on the same day.
