Conceded two goals in less than 10 minutes, leading to a 3-4 defeat by head coach Maidezhong's faculty and students in the bronze medal match against Myanmar in the 2022 Southeast Asian Women's Championship.

*Scorers: Huynh Nhu 24', 40', Hai Yen 81' - San Thaw Thaw 10', 57', 88', Lin Mynt Mo 84'.

After losing to the Philippines in the semi -finals, coach Mai Duc Chung affirmed that he would focus on the ideological work for the students to regain the best state. According to him, Vietnam at least won the third prize after failing to protect the throne of Southeast Asia. In terms of confrontation, Myanmar is not too difficult to play. In the last year of meeting, Vietnam drew one and won four, including a 4-0 victory in this group stage.

But in fact Vietnam did not get into the game well, allowing Myanmar to concede from San Thaw Thaw's close-range shot in the ninth minute. In this game, coach Maidezhong didn't arrange the strongest lineup. At that time, goalkeeper Chen Jincheng, midfielder Zhong Shiqiao, midfielder Yan Wensu, Fan Huangqiong or Ruan Bicui all sat outside.

After the goal, Vietnam stepped up its attack and repeatedly surrounded the Myanmar goal. There were not many really delicious chances, but the girls in white still found the goal thanks to Huynh Nhu's flashing moment. From the indecisive tackle of the Myanmar defender, the Vietnam captain striker rushed to quickly kick the ball into the 24th minute goal.

Huynh Nhu is the rare bright spot of Vietnam this match. After a difficult header to be blocked, the 39th minute of the Ho Chi Minh City Club striker scored again. Receiving a long pass, Huynh Nhu walked the ball in the middle of the opponent's siege and then sent Vietnam to take 2-1 leading. With this double, the star of Tra Vinh becomes the most goals for Vietnamese women's teams: 59 goals, surpassing the old milestone of senior Luu Ngoc Mai (57 goals).

However, Huynh Nhu alone cannot correct all the mistakes in defence. In the 58th minute, the Vietnamese defender let July Kyaw head the ball back to the post. The ball bounced off San Thaw Thaw's right and the striker quickly hit goalkeeper Khong Thi Hang to level the score 2-2.

At this time, coach Mai Duc Chung was forced to throw number one goalkeeper Kim Thanh in place of Con Thi Hang, while Zhang Thi Kieu replaced Luong Thi Thu Thu Thuong. Vietnam thus held the ball a lot, putting the opposite pressure on Myanmar. The victory seemed to be in the hands of teachers and coaches Mai Duc Chung, when taking the lead in the 81st minute. From the careless pass of goalkeeper May Zin Nwe, Huynh Nhu close, causing the opponent to break the ball to Hai Yen's position. The 12th striker hit the finish.

But happiness is short-lived. In the 84th minute, goalkeeper Jin Cheng made a mistake in catching the ball to create conditions for Lin Minmo to fight back, and Myanmar equalized the score 3-3. Four minutes later, when both sides could think of the possibility of a penalty shoot-out, Vietnam's net bounced again. Burmese players pass the ball into the restricted area, and the ball hits the ground and passes goalkeeper Kim Sung. San Thaw Thaw quickly cushioned the ball near goal to win 4-3.
