Vietnam selected 18 U20 players to attend ASIAD 19

12 players include goalkeeper Cao Van Binh, Doan Huy Hoang, defenders Phan Tuan Tai, Nguyen Hong Phuc, Nguyen Duc Anh, Vo Minh Trong, midfielders Khuat Van Khang, Nguyen Duc Phu, Nguyen Thai Son, Nguyen Dinh Bac, Strikers Nguyen Thanh Nhan and Bui Vi Hao.

ASIAD 19 men's soccer stipulates that teams include U24 players and three over-age players. Among the 24 Vietnamese players, goalkeeper Do Sy Huy born in 1998 is the only over-age player. The second oldest player is striker Nham Manh Dung, born in 2000. The number of U20 players is 18 people.

Viettel is the team that contributes the most personnel with six players, followed by SLNA with four. Thanh Hoa, Hanoi FC, HAGL, PVF-CAND each team has two people. Six teams have one player: Hoa Binh, Dong Thap, Binh Duong, Da Nang, Quang Nam and Hanoi Police.

On September 16, the Vietnamese Olympic Games left for China. Coach Hoang Anh Tuan will reduce the list to 22 players according to regulations. The two most likely eliminated players are goalkeeper Doan Huy Hoang and midfielder Nguyen Cong Phuong.

ASIAD 19 men's soccer has 23 teams divided into six groups with one group consisting of three teams. Teams compete in a round-robin tournament, selecting six first-place teams, six second-place teams and four third-place teams with the best results to enter the 1/8 round. Vietnam is in the group with Saudi Arabia, Iran and Mongolia. In the previous ASIAD, Vietnam Olympic under the guidance of coach Park Hang-seo made history with fourth place. At that time, three over-age players were selected: midfielder Do Hung Dung, striker Nguyen Anh Duc and Nguyen Van Quyet.
