Vietnam is the best in the SEA Games team 32
Vietnam really reached the top of the regional sport, with an overwhelming achievement of 136 gold medals at the 32nd SEA Games. This is the third time the delegation has topped the final table of the Games, but it is the first time away from home. Vietnam even left Thailand's second team to 28 gold medals.
On the final day of competition, Vietnam won 12 more gold medals from weightlifting, sports dancing, wrestling, fencing, traditional sailing, judo and kick boxing.
Wrestling continues to be a "gold mine" for Vietnamese sports today. If the female wrestlers won all six finals yesterday, the male wrestlers won four more gold medals. Bringing the most emotions on May 16 is weightlifting. Nguyen Quoc Toan broke three SEA Games records in the men's 89kg category. He achieved 155 kg jerk, 190 kg push and 345 kg total. The original Bac Lieu champion changed the color of the medal after winning the bronze medal in the 81kg category last year. Following that success, Tran Dinh Thang won dramatically against Thai rival Rungsuriya Panya in the men's 89kg upper class thanks to two successful complaints from the coaching staff.
