Vietnam beat Singapore 11-0 in the Asian Women's U20 qualifying round
At Viet Tri Stadium, Vietnam rushed to attack at the beginning of the match with the goal of scoring as many goals as possible and opening the scoring in the second minute. Ngoc Minh Chuyen took advantage of the opponent's mistakes to score. Then, Ta Thi Thuy scored twice in the 11th and 15th minutes, before Minh Chuyen scored another goal to close the first half with a score of 4-0.
In the second half, Vietnam scored nearly double the number of goals in the first half. Hai Yen scored the fifth goal for Vietnam in the 47th minute, then completed the double. After that, Minh Chuyen scored three more goals, along with Hai Yen and Hoang Anh to help Vietnam win the final 11-0.
This result helps Vietnam take the top spot in Group F from India, who just defeated Indonesia 6-0. The two teams have the same six points, but the home team is ranked above by goal difference (+14 vs +13).
Vietnam, led by coach Akira Ijiri, and India will have a match at 18:00 on March 11 at Viet Tri Stadium to determine the top spot. The team only needs to draw to complete the goal of winning tickets to the second qualifying round.
The first qualifying round of the Asian Women's U20 2024 includes 31 teams divided into eight groups. Teams play in a round-robin, selecting the top eight teams to advance to the second qualifying round.
Eight teams will continue to be divided into four groups of seeds, drawn into two round-robin groups from June 3 to 11, 2023. The top two teams in each group will advance to the final round, which will feature hosts Uzbekistan, defending champion Japan, runner-up North Korea and third-place South Korea.
