VBA 3x3 Prime 2023 opening: Ideal military training opportunity for the Vietnamese basketball team

After the success in the VBA 3x3 2022 season, the 3x3 basketball competition model organized by VBA has officially returned this year with a new name - VBA 3x3 Prime 2023.

The tournament has had an increase in both quantity and quality, increasing the number of participating teams as well as adding one more stage. Besides the two contents that have appeared, Men Pro and U20, this year VBA 3x3 will have more women's content, inspired by the success of the Vietnamese women's 3x3 basketball team at the 31st SEA Games.

On the morning of March 18, VBA 3x3 Prime 2023 officially opened and started to compete in stage 1 in Hanoi Capital. The matches were held at the pedestrian street of Hoan Kiem Lake, attracting a large number of fans.

Stage 1 of the tournament has a total of 11 clubs participating. In which, 4 VBA teams participated including Thang Long Warriors, Ho Chi Minh City Wings, Saigon Heat and Cantho Catfish. The guest teams are   Hoops Dream, New Sports, Vietnam Bumblebees and The Performance Lab.

Even more interesting, VBA 3x3 Prime 2023 has 3 special guest clubs, namely Vietnam Select (Vietnamese team), Ares Bangkok (guest guest from Thailand) and Rising Stars (member of 3x3 Malaysia youth team).

Unlike VBA 3x3 2022 when held at two locations, Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City, this year's tournament has expanded to 3 competition venues including Hanoi Capital, Nha Trang city, Khanh Hoa province. and Ho Chi Minh City.

In all three cities, matches are held in places with a lot of people and tourists, including Hoan Kiem pedestrian street (Hanoi), Tue Tinh park - Tran Phu street (Nha Trang). and Nguyen Hue pedestrian street (HCMC).

This special feature helps spread the image of basketball, especially 3x3 basketball to many viewers, attracting more fans and fans to the orange ball.

Participating in the competition as a guest team, the Vietnam Select team can be considered as the national 3x3 basketball team preparing for the 32nd SEA Games. Besides head coach Le Tran Minh Nghia are four players including Dominique Tham , Hassan Thomas, Huynh Vinh Quang and Tran Dang Khoa.

In addition, VBA 3x3 Prime 2023 is considered the perfect playground for team members to compete. Their opponents have both domestic soldiers, Vietnamese-born players and foreign athletes, most notably the foreign duo of Thang Long Warriors when both are Spanish national players.

The four players mentioned above certainly not the last four names will attend the Southeast Asian Games next May, but they will bring the first images of the 3x3 Vietnamese basketball team to the audience. fan.
