USA dominates relay events in Budapest 2023
In the first run, Quincy Hall - the 400m bronze medalist - helped the US get ahead before giving the club to Vernon Norwood - who finished fourth after his teammate in the 400m content. Halfway through, the US holds a great advantage with the remaining teams competing fiercely for second place.
Justin Robinson helped maintain America's lead in the third run, while France overtook England to take second place with fierce pursuit from Jamaica and Botswana.
Rai Benjamin - who won the bronze 400m hurdles - increased his advantage in the last leg and helped the US win the gold with 2 minutes 57 seconds 31. The bronze medal belonged to France - the team with Ludvy Vaillant, Gilles Biron, David Sombe, Teo Andant - with a national record of 2 minutes 58 seconds 45. England with Alex Haydock-Wilson, Charles Dobson, Lewis Davey, Rio Mitcham won bronze with 2 minutes 58 seconds 71.
"I don't feel like I'm the fastest, but I'm happy that my teammates helped me take the lead," said Benjamin. "After 400m hurdles, I want to come back and run at the end of this relay. Earning the trust of my teammates means a lot to me."

In the women's 4x400m event, the Netherlands exploded in the sprint to win the gold medal. From third place in the last 20m, Femke Bol of the Netherlands overtook Stacey Ann Williams of Jamaica and Nicole Yeargin of England to finish first with 3 minutes 20 seconds 72. Jamaica followed with 3 minutes 20 seconds 88, and He won bronze with 3 minutes 21 seconds 4.
This is the opposite scenario to the 4x400m medley relay final on August 19, when Bol fell right in front of the finish line and caused the Dutch team to receive the result "DNF" (did not finish), which means not completing the race. Bol personally won the second gold medal in Budapest 2023, after finishing first in the 400m hurdles with 51 seconds 70.
