In the second turn, they continued to play counter-attacking defense against a more appreciated opponent. Qatar controlled the game, creating four dangerous chances in the first 20 minutes but were not sharp enough to make the difference. After that, Thailand gradually showed the danger in counter-attacks.

In the 24th minute, Thailand put pressure on the opponent's field, creating an opportunity for Channarong Promsrikaew to finish close to the penalty area, but goalkeeper Ali Nader Korayem saved it. In the 31st minute, the Thai captain poked a slot for Teerasak Poeiphimai to put the ball into the net but was disallowed for offside. Also from here, the duo Poeiphimai – Channarong constantly tormented the home team's defense.

In the 36th minute, Poeiphimai broke the Vietnamese trap to welcome Channarong's slit, but the ball hit the Qatar goalkeeper and missed the goal. In the 45th minute, Channarong made a nasty cross, causing defender Saifeldeen A Fdlalla to push behind with Poeiphimai in the penalty area, helping Thailand to receive a penalty. On the 11m mark, midfielder Jonathan Khemdee was trusted to take on the responsibility and successfully opened the scoring. Before that, it was Khemdee who headed the equalizer 2-2 against Saudi Arabia.

In the second half, Qatar pushed up the attack to find an equalizer but could not reach Thirawooth's goal. In contrast, captain Channarong showed a smart passing vision, putting his teammates in a favorable position for at least three situations but missed the goal. In the third minute of compensation, the substitute striker Tameem Mansour shot a long shot but did not make it difficult for goalkeeper Thirawooth Sraunson, also the last dangerous opportunity of the match.

This victory gives Thailand four points after two matches to finish third. Coach Ithsara Sritharo's teachers and students ranked behind the UAE and South Korea with two wins, equal points and the same difference of +1 as Jordan, but ranked above due to more goals (3 vs 1).
