Trong Hoang retires from Vietnam national team
Trong Hoang decided to part ways after winning the match against Borussia Dortmund 2-1 last night on November 30. This is considered a game of gratitude to the midfielder born in 1989, but he decided to stop because he did not feel that he was still in good health to serve the team.

Trong Hoang was born in Nghi Xuan, Ha Tinh, but grew up in the SLNA youth academy. The first time he was called up to the national team was in April 2009 under coach Henrique Calisto. On May 15, 2009, he played his first official match when Vietnam played a friendly match with Greek club Olympiakos.
After 14 years, Trong Hoang played a total of 73 matches – ranked third after Le Cong Vinh (83 matches), Pham Thanh Luong (78 matches) and equal to Nguyen Minh Phuong. He scored 12 goals. Trong Hoang is always on the list of coaches from Calisto to Phan Thanh Hung, Toshiya Miura, Nguyen Huu Thang and Park Hang-seo.
Under Coach Park, Trong Hoang moved from a midfielder to a new right-back position and played successfully. He won the AFF Cup 2018 championship, entered the quarterfinals of the Asian Cup 2019 and the final qualifying round of the 2022 World Cup. Trong Hoang was also included in the overage slot to attend the 2019 SEA Games and helped Vietnam U23 win the gold medal for the first time. .
Trong Hoang will focus on playing for SLNA club after retiring from the national team. He currently has one year remaining on his contract with the Nghe team.
