Tottenham won't let Kane greet teammates
On August 11, Kane flew from England to Germany to sign a contract with Bayern. The Sun newspaper said that a few hours before the flight, Tottenham sent an email to Kane saying it was inappropriate for him to return to the training ground to say goodbye to his teammates. Kane also could not recover personal belongings, which were sent later by Tottenham.
Regarding refusing to let Kane say goodbye to his teammates, Tottenham explained that after the two clubs reached a transfer agreement, Kane did not need to go to the training ground. The relationship between Kane and the club remains good and he will return to say goodbye as soon as possible. "Kane and Chairman Daniel Levy have exchanged messages including best wishes on the birth of his son, Henry. As has been publicly conveyed, he is loved by everyone at Tottenham and will always be welcome," the Tottenham spokesman added.
Kane's reps have not yet commented on the matter.
Previously, another source said that when Kane went to the airport to go to Germany, he received news that Tottenham had not allowed him to leave. The English striker and his team of advisors had to stay at the airport for a long time. The incident, according to two transfer news experts Fabrizio Romano and Florian Plettenberg, stemmed from the fact that Chairman Levy was in the US, had a time zone difference, and wanted to change some small details in the contract between the two clubs. After that, this problem was resolved so that Kane could fly to Germany.
According to German media, in addition to the 110 million USD fixed transfer fee, Bayern may have to pay an additional 22 million in additional fees to Tottenham, based on Kane's contribution in the new shirt.
After the transfer, Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou and several players received messages of "thank you and best wishes" from Kane. The player who has been with him for 19 years and holds the record of scoring 280 goals for Tottenham also posted a video of gratitude and farewell to the fans.
Kane fainted when he came on as a substitute in the first match with Bayern - the 0-3 loss to RB Leipzig in the German Super Cup, on August 12. However, six days later, he scored once and assisted once, helping Bayern crush Werder Bremen 4-0 in their Bundesliga opener. In the second round, Kane continued to shine with a double, contributing to the 3-1 victory over Augsburg.
