Three adjustments to help Guardiola overcome Bayern
Haaland has had many Premier League matches touch the ball less than 10 times and has been criticized as not suitable for Man City's play. Guardiola himself repeatedly admitted that the Norwegian striker was annoyed by the lack of the ball and wanted him to contribute more to the team's play, despite constantly scoring.

In the 70th minute, receiving a heel strike from Jack Grealish, the 22-year-old striker crossed for Bernardo Silva to head diagonally to double the gap. Seven minutes later, Haaland cushioned the close to seal the score 3-0, thereby setting a record for the first English Premier League player to score 45 goals in all competitions in a season.

Yesterday, Stones passed 28 passes and blocked Jamal Musiala - Bayern's most dangerous attacking midfielder. This is the role that Stones played very effectively in the 4-1 victory over Liverpool in the Premier League earlier this month.

"This is something I'm still learning and it certainly doesn't come naturally," Stones said of his new position after beating Bayern. "This is an opportunity for me to be more creative. But I don't have a good vision so I just try to play it safe. We've worked together for seven months. Guardiola wouldn't have done that if he didn't trust me. After that, I try to express myself and help the team."

Thanks to the above adjustments, Guardiola extended the winning streak against Tuchel to three matches, after two wins with the same score of 1-0 against his German colleague's Chelsea through two legs of the Premier League season 2021-2022. The defeats against Tuchel and Chelsea in the semi-finals of the FA Cup and the final of the Champions League 2020-2021 seem to have helped Guardiola learn many valuable lessons.
On April 15, Man City received Leicester in round 31 of the English Premier League before rematching Bayern in Germany on the evening of April 19.
