The story of 2 months of preparation for NUC 2022 of Electricity University basketball
Electricity University is one of the schools with extremely exciting extracurricular sports activities. In addition to studying in the lecture hall, Electric Power University always creates favorable conditions for students to participate in healthy sports activities such as dancing, basketball, volleyball, and soccer.
These activities not only enhance the spirit of solidarity among students but also help them to study, practice, and develop more comprehensively.
Among the school's clubs, the basketball club is always active and is a destination and a healthy playground for students in the school. Coach Cao Tran An - who has been with the basketball team of Electric Power University (EPU) said: "Electricity University basketball team has only been established since 2019. In the past 1 year or so, the team has just been established. The University of Electricity has participated in the basketball tournament organized by the Vietnam - France Open and won the championship in that tournament, but recently, I have limited the participation of the students because of keeping their physical strength and standards. for this tournament".
At NUC 2022, EPU ranked in Group A along with Banking Academy and VNU-VNU. This team has had 2 wins, especially the dramatic 36-35 victory over Banking Academy in the decisive match for the first place in Group A.
It is known that EPU has a 2-month training period before entering the tournament. "When it comes to this tournament, the biggest difficulty of Electricity University is that everyone's training time is quite small, so there is no cohesion. The players are currently fighting with emotions, In terms of tactics, it is still limited, not much.In terms of strength, the best is still the spirit of the whole team.
Before the tournament, when we received the notice, the whole team gathered, about 2 months. Previously, in the team, most of them were final year students, but the school created conditions for them in 2004 so I added a few more members for this tournament. Currently, the core of Electricity University is still the old students and there are 2 new students. After 2 months of practice, the whole team has become more stable, and before that, it was simply a new team that knew how to play basketball, only played friendly matches and played small tournaments organized by universities.
For Electricity University, the group stage or the qualifying round is not important because for us every team is a strong opponent, the whole team has no assessment of any weak team. When entering the field, Electricity University will do our best so that when we step out of the field, we will not regret it. At NUC 2022, Electricity University aims to be in the top 3 in the Northern region.
In front of coach Cao Tran An and the players will be an important match in the knockout round and their opponent is FPT University. This will be an extremely difficult and arduous challenge for EPU in their journey to achieve their goal of reaching the top 3 in the North region!
