Coach Erik Ten Hag hopes the contract signing Jonny Evans can impart experience and help young players of Man Utd.

"I think helping each other is a good idea. This contract is beneficial for all parties involved," Ten Hag said on July 19 when asked about the recruitment of Jonny Evans.

According to Transfermarkt, the contract between Man Utd and Evans is only valid from July 18 to July 31. The 35-year-old midfielder will practice and participate in a number of games in the pre-season. After that, Evans can move to another club.

According to the Dutch leader, Evan can train physically and help Man Utd improve. "We know he's a seasoned player, but he's also a very good person and a great personality. I also think he has great authority and can help young players," Ten said. Hag added.

Evans is out of contract with Leicester City this summer. The 2015-2016 Premier League champions will have to play in the First Division from the 2023-2024 season, due to being ranked third from the bottom last season.

Evans grew up from the Man Utd training camp. In nine years playing for the first team, the Northern Ireland midfielder made 198 appearances, contributing seven goals and seven assists. In 2015, Evans left Man Utd to join West Brom. He played for Leicester City from 2018 to 2023.

Evans has won three Premier Leagues with Man Utd, two League Cups, four Super Cups, a Champions League and a FIFA Club World Cup. With Leicester City, he won the 2020-2021 FA Cup.

In the friendly match Man Utd beat Lyon 1-0 on the evening of July 19, Evans came on from the bench. By the end of July, the "Red Devils" also had friendly matches with Arsenal, Wrexham, Real Madrid and Dortmund. They start the 2023-2024 Premier League with a match against Wolves on August 14.
