The VGA Tour Championship, which takes place from December 19 to December 22, will close the opening season of the domestic professional golf arena managed by the Vietnam Golf Association.

The event took place on par72 of Thanh Lanh Valley Golf & Resort, Vinh Phuc with a bonus fund of 1.5 billion VND, of which 500 million VND for the champion. Competitors will race for points through 4 laps, without cutting out.

This is considered a big final when only for the top 30 combined scoreboards, converted from achievements. Up to the penultimate stage - Vietnam Masters in October, the top 5 from the top include Nguyen Huu Quyet, Joel Troy, Do Hong Giang, Brian Jung and Truong Chi Quan. Huu Quyet and Hong Giang attended four prizes, twice as much as Troy, and Jung and Chi Quan both won three prizes.

Huu Quyet climbed to the top of the table thanks to the first place in the Vietnam Masters, pushing Troy down to second. Previously, the Australian golfer took the first place when holding the Vietnam Open cup in September.

In the list for the VGA Tour Championship, Pham Minh Duc is a special case. He is a professional, but he hasn't played in the past five years. However, when choosing Vietnam Masters as the rematch event, Minh Duc finished second, thereby getting tickets to the final tournament with 9th place in the aggregate scoreboard.

The VGA Tour is oriented towards the international model in which the system-wide championship is decided similar to the US PGA Tour with the FedEx Cup table and the grand final of the Tour Championship for the top 30 in East Lake, Atlanta. The DP World Tour (the new name of the European Tour) also applies the same way, through the rankings with the same name of the arena, but the closing tournament in Dubai opens to the top 50.

In the starting season of 2022, VGA Tour has a total of 5 prizes from March to the end of the year, and the average bonus fund is equal to or better than the Asian second-class professional system - Asian Development Tour. With financial backing from businesses, the awards are currently associated with two auto brands and three companies in the financial-banking-stock industry.

Except for the men's VGA Tour Championship, the rest of the events have women's groups. This branch each stage changes the cup owner, in turn, including Nguyen Thao My, Doan Xuan Khue Minh, Park Si Eun, and Lina Kim.

Meanwhile, the men's group recorded a "blockbuster", through Nguyen Anh Minh winning the first two prizes - Lexus Challenge and Vietnam National Championship. Minh was not yet 15 years old when he won the Lexus Challenge, thereby becoming the first and youngest amateur champion in the history of professional golf in the country.

Due to his amateur appearance, Anh Minh and many other young talents were not allowed to attend the VGA Tour Championship like the four previous tournaments.
