Brothers Minh Chi and Minh Thien participated in MetaSports Marathon Nha Trang 2023 with the goal of winning two distances of 5km and 10km.

Minh Chi and Minh Thien (20 years old, Hanoi) are twin brothers, pursuing professional athletics, on the payroll of the military sports team. In the past few years, they have been called "the fastest running twins in Vietnam" thanks to their many achievements in national youth athletics championships such as gold medals in 1,500 m, 5,000 m. . From 2020, they regularly participate in the MetaSports Marathon system and together go to the podium to receive prizes. But due to injuries and poor performance, this year the two have not run in the same tournament.

On August 13, on the track of MetaSports Marathon Marvelous Nha Trang 2023, the twins reappeared together. Thien conquered the distance of 5km, while his younger brother Minh Chi ran 10km. Both are aiming to win the distance championships they participate in.

"We chose two shorter distances than usual because practice was not enough to compete in two long distances. This is also a tactic to divide the opportunity to shine in the two playing fields," said Minh Chi. Chi said, even though the distance is short and the prize value is not too high, if they win, the two children will be relieved of psychological pressure, increasing inspiration to conquer bigger goals in the national championship, each step by step to realize the dream of reaching out to the regional arena.

For the two brothers, the playground is a place to learn the spirit and practice the will to compete. "Different from professional athletes, many athletes are not only running, they are busy with a living, there are people who are old but still have time to practice, compete everywhere and continuously improve their performance. It proves that the will and love for running is great, young athletes like us need to learn if they want to go far," Minh Thien said.

After the MetaSports Marathon Nha Trang, Chi and Thien will plan to practice two long distances for the MetaSports Marathon Hanoi Midnight, which will take place in November.

Minh Chi and Minh Thien are talents discovered through school sports 8 years ago. Practiced running and competing in student competitions with his brother, but the younger brother Dao Minh Chi showed his superiority in performance, so he was selected first and was already a member of the national youth athletics team.

Coming to athletics a year after his brother, plus the continuous injury caused Thien to miss many important tournaments. Watching his younger brother achieve high results at the 2020 National Youth Athletics Championships, Minh Thien was under psychological pressure.

However, with encouragement from his younger brother, Thien overcame a difficult period and regained his spirit to move on. "At that time, I was very sad, but fortunately, Chi and her parents were constantly beside and encouraging me, so it didn't take long for her to take off the psychological pressure," Thien said.

As for Minh Chi, there are pressures of his own. "I'm a young athlete, so I have to work very hard. At the end of this year, I will be out of age in the youth team. Therefore, I must have more outstanding achievements to be promoted to the national team to compete in the international competitions. big playground," Chi said.

Up to now, the two brothers have their own direction. Minh Thien will focus on the full marathon, following in the footsteps of his senior Trinh Quoc Luong. Meanwhile, Minh Chi will focus on shorter distances of 5 and 10 km.

MetaSports Marathon Marvelous Nha Trang will officially kick off at 3am, August 13. In addition to the twins Chi and Thien, the four-distance running track has the appearance of national athletes and former players such as Hoang Nguyen Thanh, Trinh Quoc Luong, Truong Van Tam at 42km, Do Quoc Luat, " walking queen" Thanh Phuc competes in a distance of 21 km...
