The defending champion Golden State Warriors was defeated right before the NBA Playoffs
Entering the final sprint of the Regular Season and right before the NBA Playoffs, the Golden State Warriors are facing some difficulties in terms of forces. Besides Andrew Wiggins whose return date is unknown for personal reasons, fans of the reigning NBA champion team have just received another bad news.

On this morning (March 22), many reputable news sites confirmed that experienced veteran Andre Iguodala had just had a successful surgery to deal with a left wrist fracture.
The 4-time NBA champion with the Golden State Warriors was injured on March 14 in the match against the Phoenix Suns. After a period of consideration, he and the medical team decided to go to the operating table.

Now 39 years old, Andre Iguodala is still an important name in the personnel system that coach Steve Kerr built. He is an old general in the dressing room and even on the field, often sharing his experience with the next generation of players.
In addition to the above, Iggy still played an average of 14.1 minutes, scoring 2.1 points and 2.4 assists per game for the Golden State Warriors. Unfortunately, the injury once again stuck and prevented Andre from playing regularly.
He once missed the first 3 months of the Regular Season 2022-23 because of a hip injury. He later returned but soon had to be friends with the bench due to a relapse of his injury.
In addition to the wrist surgery that has just been performed, Andre Iguodala will have to wait until the Playoffs stage to be able to return to the field, which is expected to be around the beginning of the 2nd round.

Since Andre Iguodala retired on March 14, the Golden State Warriors have given youngster Jonathan Kuminga more playing opportunities.
Taking advantage of this opportunity, the Congolese bigman is playing impressively with an average of 17 points, 5.7 rebounds and 3.3 assists in the last 3 appearances.
In the immediate future, Jonathan Kuminga will continue to be a temporary solution for the gap in the striker position, where the Warriors are absent from both Andre Iguodala and Andrew Wiggins.
