The collective strength that accompanies RMIT University to the final of NUC 2022
With RMIT University, the road to conquering the National Student Basketball Tournament in 2022 is certainly not strewn with roses.
They have faced quite a few challenges since the tournament has not even started. Many players in the "golden generation" squad have graduated from school, ceding their positions to young players who are enthusiastic but do not have much combat experience.
But then RMIT still struggled to pass the qualifying round of the South region with unbelievable upstream victories, then won the championship with a deserved victory after a big victory over Hoa Sen University.

Not stopping there, RMIT team continued to conquer the national final round with impressive performance. Then the next barrier appeared when injuries occurred to two important pillars, Jamie Martin and Mai Nhat Hao.
It seemed that this challenge would become too big for teachers and students, coach Huynh Quoc Huy and assistant Le Quang, but RMIT could still explode.
With a uniform squad and many individuals willing to stand up to accept the shining pressure like Minh Tinh, Kien Dat or Quang Nghia, the red shirt army defeated Hoa Sen University for the second time.
This victory came in the semi-finals of the national finals, bringing RMIT to the NUC 2022 finals in a well-deserved way.
“When it comes to the finals, there are no easy matches. RMIT and Hoa Sen are two opponents who have met each other too many times, and understand each other's play well, so the match is not easy," coach Huynh Quoc Huy said.
“RMIT had to come in slower than usual because our squad was overloaded. The coaching staff has agreed in the decision to delay the match and start more slowly to keep the athletes healthy."
“When the mainstay of the team was injured and couldn't hit much, I had to create more opportunities for younger players. It is not easy for coaches to put their full faith in such young players,” said assistant coach Le Quang.
"In the semi-finals, any RMIT player who enters the field and does not come on has contributed to the team in some way. That is a commendable point of a united team, which is the strength of the team. studied at RMIT ever since".
At this national final, RMIT University will represent the South region to face a representative from the Northern region, the University of Transport and Communications (UTC).
Interestingly, both teams have met in the group stage, where RMIT beat UTC by 30 points (70-40). However, that match was soon forgotten by the RMIT coaching staff because in their eyes, the opponent that had reached the final was a strong team.
The University of Transport itself has also made a makeover. After winning against the National Economics University to win tickets to the next round, they defeated the champion of the Northern region, the Hanoi University of Education, Physical Training and Sports, by completely overwhelming in the semi-finals.
“A great thing about this year's student basketball is that through each game, you all grow and learn a lot of new things. As I said, coming here will not have any easy matches, "said coach Huynh Quoc Huy.

Be wary of opponents, but RMIT's coaching staff are brimming with confidence ahead of the biggest final the team has ever attended.
“The entire coaching staff and RMIT players are ready for the final, determined to enter the field to play hard and try to handle every ball well.
After reaching the final, everyone wants to win. I believe that RMIT University has the strength to overcome the barriers ahead to achieve its ultimate goal, a goal that has been identified by the RMIT basketball team over the years.
All members of the team have been preparing for this moment for a long time. The blood and determination of 12 people is already great. The final match will be your stage, whoever is better prepared, who is more ready will be the winning team," added coach Huynh Quoc Huy and assistant Le Quang.

From reaching the regional finals to reaching the national finals, RMIT University shows that no matter how many difficulties they face, they have the best preparation to overcome.
All together and strive to conquer the biggest goal, which is the pinnacle position of student basketball in the whole country of Vietnam.
The men's final of the 2022 National Student Basketball Tournament between RMIT University and the University of Transport will take place at 5:00 p.m. Thursday, November 17.
