The Chinese player usurped the world number one position from the Vietnamese golfer
Yin reached a memorable position in his career thanks to finishing third at the Kroger Queen City Championship on the LPGA Tour last weekend. That was the third consecutive time this 20-year-old player finished in the top 3 overall in the top-ranked American women's golf arena.
Before Yin, compatriot Shanshan Feng, born in 1989, held the top Rolex Rankings for the period November 2017 - April 2018. In August 2022, Feng announced his retirement, after 15 years of professional golf, including winning 10 cups on the LPGA Tour, including the 2012 major Women's PGA Championship.

Yin always considered Feng an idol. "Me being ranked number one in the world is a big step in my journey to follow Shanshan's example. I don't have many opportunities to talk to her, but in the near future I will probably become closer thanks to the Asian Games." On September 23, Yin played for the Chinese golf team, and Feng was the head coach at the Asian Games in Hangzhou.
Yin started practicing golf when she was 10 years old and has been playing professionally since 2020. The year she started, she immediately entered the Chinese professional women's golf arena and won three tournaments in a row, thereby owning two Guinness records, both tied to the LPGA Tour China.
