The American striker was hospitalized after scoring against Iran
In the 39th minute, in the cut to cushion the near wall after Sergino Dest's pass, Pulisic collided strongly in the abdomen with the knee of Iran goalkeeper Alireza Beiranvand.
The American striker collapsed into the Iranian goal, and clutched his stomach in pain right after scoring. The medical staff had to take care of Pulisic on the spot for a few minutes before he was carried out on a stretcher.
Pulisic managed to last until the end of the first half, before being given the second half by head coach Gregg Berhalter to watch. After the match ended, the striker was taken straight to the hospital for an overall evaluation.
Pulisic is America's brightest star in the group stage. Before yesterday's decision, the Chelsea striker assisted Timothy Weah to open the scoring in the 1-1 draw with Wales. When England drew 0-0 in the second turn, Pulisic made the opponent's heart flutter many times, including one shot down goalkeeper Jordan Pickford but was denied by the crossbar.
With one win and two draws, the US finished second in Group B, following England to continue. It is not clear how serious Pulisic is, but this is the biggest concern when the US prepares to play in the 1/8 round on December 3 with the Netherlands - the team won two, drew one to take the top spot in Group A.
Pulisic's speed, goal-scoring instincts and technique are considered an important tactical key for the United States to deal with a defense that has just conceded a goal led by midfielder Virgil van Dijk on the Dutch side.
