The 32nd SEA Games Village meets 32% of accommodation needs
The 32nd SEA Games Village is located on an 8-hectare land, next to the Morodok Techo National Stadium in Phnom Penh. On April 9, General Secretary of the 32nd SEA Games Organizing Committee (CAMSOC) Vath Chamroeun said that the SEA Games Village has been completed and is ready to welcome athletes from April 17.

According to CAMSOC's announcement, the total number of delegation members attending the 32nd SEA Games is 12,404 people. Thailand has the largest population, with 1985 people, followed by Indonesia (1802), Vietnam (1663), Malaysia (1532), Philippines (1342), Singapore (1228), Cambodia (1158), Myanmar (694), Laos (656), Timor Leste (171) and Brunei (113).
Phnom Penh is the main venue for the 32nd SEA Games, with 32 out of 37 sports. The SEA Games village has a capacity of 3,500 people, or 32% of the approximately 11,000 delegation members in the Cambodian capital. The remaining number will compete and stay in four provinces: Kep, Kampot, Siem Reap and Sihanoukville.
68% of the team members who are not at the SEA Games Village will be arranged to stay at four-star hotels or more near the competition venues. Some teams, such as football, are staying at hotels when attending the Games. The cost of the hotel is covered by the host Cambodia. If there is a need to choose another accommodation that suits their needs, the groups will be supported by the host family and pay the difference themselves.
When hosting the previous congress, the Vietnamese host did not build a SEA Games village, but rented a hotel. In the Philippines 2019, the SEA Games village located in New Clark City has a capacity of about 1,800 people.
Initially, Cambodia planned to build apartments and three-storey houses that could accommodate 10,000 people, but it was not completed in time. Homeowners focus on completing three-story houses and expect to accommodate 6,000 people, but continue to have to adjust down to the final number of 3,500.
At the end of March, some delegations feared that the athletes' village could not be completed in time. However, secretary general Chamroen confirmed: "All essential equipment has been installed in the house".
Head of the CAMSOC Committee Tea Banh said Cambodia has completed 90% of the infrastructure for the 32nd SEA Games, the remaining 10% is in the decoration stage. Meanwhile, everything is ready for Para Games 12.
