The President of the Football Federation of Thailand (FAT) Somyot Poompanmoung left open the possibility of a contract extension with Mano Polking - the coach being invited by the Hanoi Police Club to work.

"I'm not the perfect coach," Polking said on April 18. "I have lost a few matches, but I believe that the Thai team will play as it should in the official tournaments, and my style is still suitable for this team."

Coach Polking was born in 1976, has been with Thai football since 2012 including seven years leading the famous Bangkok United club, from 2014 to 2020. In September 2021, Polking became the interim coach of Thailand, replacing coach Akira Nishino. Immediately, the Brazilian leader made his mark with the AFF Cup 2021 before being officially signed, and then won the AFF Cup 2022. He is the only coach in Southeast Asia to beat Park Hang- seo when the Korean leader was still in office in Vietnam.
