Teenagers catch up with McIlroy's achievements on OWGR
According to Nosferatu expert on OWGR statistics, McKibbin has just touched the youthful feat of the reigning world number one Rory McIlroy - "entering the top 300 in his teens".
OWGR history since 1986 records Northern Ireland golf only McIlroy and McKibbin can do this. McIlroy, now 33, entered the top 300 at the age of 18, now accumulating 115 weeks at the top of OWGR.
"Definitely great sharing that milestone with Rory McIlroy," McKibbin said proudly at his new position on OWGR. Last week, McKibbin ranked 318th while late last year, he ranked 1,140th.
Many international golf experts believe McKibbin is the "future Rory". McIlroy also highly appreciated the junior in a statement to the media a few years ago: "I think he will have many prospects in his golf career."
McKibbin began playing professional golf in April 2021, being cut out for the first three tournaments. From the start to the beginning of this year, he mainly competed in the second-class Challenge Tour system to find his way to Europe's first-class arena - DP World Tour. McKibbin hit his target last month. When promoted, Kibbin achieved good form - finishing in the T13-T18 segment through the first three tournaments of the 2022-2023 season.
In the first round of the South African Open on December 1, McKibbin also scored a hole-in-one, at hole 11 with a 5 iron.

This tournament, he finished T15 with -8 points while the championship belonged to Thriston Lawrence with -16 points. Lawrence from South Africa, attended 54 DP World Tour tournaments with three first places.
