'Runner is not allowed to give up water at MetaSports Marathon Quy Nhon'
"On race day, athletes should maintain drinking water before starting and during the run. You absolutely must not skip the water stations. Especially when using gel or electrolyte products, you must drink water. Runner. It is also important to pay special attention to the body's response during the competition to replenish water or take advantage of cooling at the stations," said coach Huynh Thanh from the T-coaching running community.
MetaSports Marathon Sparkling Quy Nhon takes place in the summer with hot weather, easy to make athletes lose their strength. According to Huynh Thanh, it is also important to add water in the few days before the raceday. "Three days before the race, the body needs to be replenished with enough water, can use more coconut water, juice, electrolytes ... One day before the race, athletes should drink water with many minerals," coach cum This Binh Dinh runner added.
Huynh Thanh said he and his students had to do heat acclimation exercises for the past several weeks to prepare for the MetaSports Marathon Sparkling Quy Nhon. This will be a challenging but meaningful run for the original Binh Dinh runner. Up to now, Huynh Thanh has never left VM Quy Nhon and plans to attend regularly in the future, because it is held in his hometown.
"Not only should drink water before and during the race, runners need to provide adequate water for the body after reaching the finish line. In addition, everyone should anticipate risks when running in the sun and have a way to cope. Drink a lot of water, need to find out where there are toilets arranged by the organizers. If there are signs of cramps, the runner should not stop, but should only slow down and adjust the movement. You can use cold water to pour it directly on the area where it is withdrawn," Huynh Thanh said.
Runner born in 1993 also recommends athletes warm up carefully from 30 to 45 minutes before the start time. In the first 2 km, the runner should slow down to avoid being caught up in the crowd. After the race, he says people need to run or walk to recover within 24 hours of reaching the finish line.
For runners who intend to wear special costumes or cosplay during competition, Huynh Thanh recommends choosing cool, quick-drying fabrics or materials. Due to the high temperature and intense sunlight, it is advisable to limit the clothes that are secretive, causing the body to lose water. Runners can use accessories such as sunglasses, hats, sunscreen, jogging sleeves... to cope with the weather.
Huynh Thanh is a familiar runner at MetaSports Marathon, having participated in seven tournaments under the system. Earlier this year, he achieved PR 2 hours 49 minutes 49 seconds at MetaSports Marathon Imperial Hue 2023
