Ronaldo is the best Saudi Pro League in August
Brilliant performance in the last two matches helped Ronaldo win this award. He surpassed three other candidates, including: Igor Coronado (Al Ittihad), Riyad Mahrez (Al Ahli) and Malcom (Al Hilal).
This is the second time Ronaldo has won the Saudi Pro League player of the month award. Last season, the 38-year-old striker was honored in February.
Ronaldo played his first match for Al Nassr this season on August 19. At that time, he did not score and helplessly watched the home team lose to Al Taawooun 0-2. However, Ronaldo scored a hat-trick against Al-Fateh in the next match, helping Al Nassr win 5-0. Four days later, he again scored twice against Al-Shabab, contributing to a 4-0 victory. In these two matches, the Portuguese superstar also contributed two assists.
Ronaldo's return to form contributed to helping Al Nassr improve his position on the scoreboard after starting the season with two defeats. Ronaldo was absent when Al Nassr lost 2-1 to Al Ettifaq in round one on August 15 due to injury. Currently, Al Nassr has risen to sixth in the Saudi Pro League 2023-2024, six points behind the two leading teams Al Ittihad and Al Ahli.
Ronaldo's revival has Sadio Mane's role. After moving from Liverpool, the Senegal striker quickly became a good partner with Ronaldo, turning Al Nassr into one of the teams with the most formidable attack in the Saudi Pro League. Mane has scored four goals in four matches for Al Nassr.
Al Nassr will play their next match on September 2, away at Al Hazm Stadium. On September 19, they will begin their journey in the AFC Champions League with an away trip to Iranian club Persepolis in Group E.
