Ronaldo hits 850 goals
The goal to increase the score to 4-1 against Al Hazem on September 2 helped Ronaldo reach the mark of 20 goals in the Saudi Pro League, after 20 matches for Al Nassr. In all competitions, he scored 26 goals in 30 matches since joining the Saudi Arabian club. CR7 raised the all-time record to 850 goals, 32 goals more than second place Lionel Messi.
After scoring, Ronaldo ran to the corner of the field and jumped around to celebrate the goal, shouting the familiar word "siuuu". When his teammates ran to him, he danced and waved his arms, then stuck out his tongue and smiled brightly. In the previous match, the Portuguese captain gave up the penalty to domestic player Abdulrahman Ghareeb. In this match, he continued to assist Ghareeb to open the score, then the Saudi midfielder reciprocated with a pass to set him up to score.
Of Ronaldo's 850 goals in his career, there are 123 goals in 200 matches for Portugal, and 727 goals in 979 club matches. His first goal scored for Sporting was 21 years ago, and the 38-year-old superstar shows no signs of stopping.
That performance also helped CR7 to score higher than 9.0 by Sofascore for three consecutive games, something that hasn't happened to him since the company started assessing players game by game.

Ronaldo's goal and assist stats are also better than Messi's this season, in all club-level competitions. The Portuguese superstar scored 12 goals and assisted five times in 11 matches, while the Argentine captain scored 11 goals and assisted three times in 10 matches. CR7 takes an average of 56 minutes to score or assist, while M10 needs 57 minutes to do so.
However, Ronaldo's stats have a big impact from the penalty. He scored nine penalty goals in 2023, without missing a single shot, even though he sometimes let Anderson Talisca or Ghareeb take an 11m penalty. And Messi has not taken a penalty this year, mainly for teammates to do.
Ronaldo will have the opportunity to further improve his scoring record because he was called up to the Portuguese team, preparing to play two Euro 2024 qualifying matches against Slovakia and Luxembourg.
