Cristiano Ronaldo insists his old teacher Alex Ferguson is always on his side after the events that happened with Man Utd this season.

"Sir Alex is always on my side," Ronaldo told Piers Morgan in an interview aired on the evening of November 17. The Portuguese superstar said that his old teacher understood why he had controversial actions from the beginning of this season.

When Morgan asked Sir Alex Ferguson what he would think of what happened between Man Utd and Ronaldo, the Portuguese superstar replied: "I haven't spoken to him for about a month now but he always understands. First of all, Sir Alex understands that Man Utd are not on the path they deserve. He knows and everyone knows."

According to Ronaldo, some figures at Man Utd know the team is off course but act like they don't know it and seek to blame it. He said: "The fans always have the answer, ask them. Man Utd belongs to the fans and they should know the truth. The infrastructure is not good and Man Utd has to change."

In the previous part of the interview, Ronaldo reaffirmed that Sir Alex is the one who has a decisive voice in his return to Man Utd in the summer of 2021.

Sir Alex has not spoken about Ronaldo's controversial interview that has been broadcast continuously this week. He is currently the global ambassador of Man Utd.

Ronaldo is focusing on the 2022 World Cup campaign with Portugal. The 37-year-old admitted he did not know what would happen after the World Cup, when Morgan asked if on January 1, 2023 he would still be a Man Utd man.

British media claim that coach Erik ten Hag has told the leadership of Man Utd about eliminating Ronaldo for the rest of the season. The Old Trafford team also consulted a team of lawyers to consider the matter from a legal perspective. They may have to pay about 14 million USD in compensation if they unilaterally liquidate Ronaldo's contract until June 2023.
