Real lead La Liga without VAR
According to Marca, if the referee does not use VAR in the first 27 rounds, Real may have 64 points. In that case, Barca also had 64 points, but ranked second due to poor difference.
The newspaper cited three matches Barca beat Valencia 1-0, Bilbao 1-0 and Real 2-1. They think that if VAR did not intervene, Barca would have drawn Valencia 1-1, lost to Bilbao 0-1 and drew Real 2-2. Marca also believes that VAR has taken away Real's victory in the two draws of Betis 0-0 and Girona 1-1.

In fact, Barca is leading La Liga with 71 points. Real ranked second with 59 points. Barca only need to win eight of the remaining 11 matches to qualify for the crown, regardless of Real's results.
On April 5, Barca will take on Real in the semi-final second leg of the King's Cup. In the first leg, Xavi's teachers and students won 1-0 right at the Bernabeu. In the other semi-final, Osasuna is leading Bilbao 1-0 after the first leg at home.
Since the beginning of the 2022-2023 season, Barca and Real have met four times. Barca lost 1-3 in the first leg of La Liga, but won 3-1 in the final of the Spanish Super Cup, 1-0 in the first leg semi-finals of the King's Cup and 2-1 in the second leg of La Liga.

Barca won 26 La Liga. The Camp Nou team also holds the record of winning 31 King's Cups and 14 Spanish Super Cups. If Barca win La Liga this season, Barca will be crowned for the first time since the 2018-19 season. Real is still the most successful with 35 La Liga.
If Barca is crowned, Xavi will have his first La Liga as a coach. As a player for the team, the 43-year-old coach won eight La Liga, three King's Cups and six Spanish Super Cups.
