Rashford surpasses Ronaldo's achievement
This is Rashford's 25th goal for Man Utd in the European arena. It took him seven seasons to achieve this, having played for the first team in the second half of the 2015-2016 season.
Ronaldo also needs the same time to reach 24 goals, including six seasons from 2003 to 2009, the 2021-2022 season and the first half of the 2022-2023 season.

"Rashford is on the right track, but the problem is how many Champions League games he has played and how many Ronaldo plays," commented one fan. Currently, Wayne Rooney still holds the record of 39 goals for Man Utd in the European arena. That includes 30 goals in the Champions League, four in the Champions League qualifying round and five in the Europa League. Ruud Van Nistelrooy is right behind Rooney, with 38 goals. Poor in overall performance, but the former Dutch striker is Man Utd's top scorer in the Champions League with 35 goals. Van Nistelrooy's remaining three goals came from the Champions League qualifying round.
After overcoming Betis with the final score 5-1, Man Utd entered the quarter-finals of the Europa League 2022-2023. They thereby extended their unbeaten streak against Spanish teams to seven (won five, drew two). In the previous 26 matches, they only won three, the rest drew 11 and lost 12.
