Striker Marcus Rashford did not attend the two Euro 2024 qualifying matches against Italy and Ukraine due to an injury in the Man Utd - Fulham match.

According to the announcement of the English Football Association (FA) on March 20, coach Gareth Southgate did not call another striker to replace Rashford. England will therefore still start their Euro 2024 qualifying journey with existing centre-forwards, including captain Harry Kane and 28-year-old rookie from Brentford club Ivan Toney.

Rashford suffered a minor injury in the collision that led to Aleksandar Mitrovic's opener for Fulham in the match on March 19. He was then withdrawn from the field in the 83rd minute, making way for Fred.

Before that, Rashford scored the only goal, helping Man Utd beat Real Betis 1-0 in the second leg of the 1/8 round of the Europa League on March 16. It was his 30th goal for club and England this season. At the 2022 World Cup, Rashford scored three goals, the most of any England player. After 51 times wearing the "Three Lions" shirt, he scored 15 goals.

Man Utd hope Rashford can return in time against Newcastle on April 2. The 25-year-old striker plays an important role in the play of the "Red Devils" this season. Last month, he received the February player of the month award from both Man Utd and the Premier League.

In the immediate future, the 25-year-old striker will work with the club's medical team at the Carrington center. The same situation with Rashford is Mason Mount. The Chelsea midfielder is also absent from this gathering due to injury.

Coach Gareth Southgate has summoned additional Tottenham goalkeeper Fraser Forster to replace Nick Pope - the case of injury and had to withdraw. Forster made his England debut in 2013 and made six appearances for the national team but has not been called up since 2016.

He will be a guest at Italy in the opening match of Group C of Euro 2024 qualifying on March 23 before taking on Ukraine at Wembley three days later. This table also includes North Macedonia and Malta.
