France Midfielder Nguyen Quang Hai lacked in the fourth match for Pau B in the French Fifth Division, increasing his scoreless streak to 17 matches.

Scored: Yattara 23, Degert 85

Quang Hai started when Pau B defeated the away team Lege Cap Ferret 2-0 in the 18th round of the French Fifth Division on March 25. This is the fourth match Quang Hai plays for Pau FC's B team this season, and he is both starting. Despite playing the full 90 minutes in the office, the Vietnamese midfielder did not score or create.

Quang Hai extended his 17-match streak without scoring in all competitions for the club and the national team. The last time he scored was the 2-2 goal for Pau FC against the away team Rodez in the 11th round of Ligue 2 on October 8, 2022. Since then, he played eight matches for Vietnam, nine for Pau's first team and B team, but never scored.

The longest string of "nothing" in Quang Hai's career is 18 matches, lasting one year from October 2019 to October 2020. The 26-year-old midfielder also went through a 15-match streak without scoring from April to July 2019, but at that time he was the main starter. In the last 17 matches, Quang Hai started nine matches. In the last five games for Pau FC's first team, he only played a total of 36 minutes.

In the match against Lege Cap Ferret yesterday, Quang Hai kicked the No. 10 position, behind former Lyon club striker Mohamed Yatara. According to French newspaper La Republique des Pyrenees, Quang Hai's only impression was a volley in the 11th minute, from Loick Lespinasse's cross on the left, but the ball did not hit the target.

Pau B opened the scoring 12 minutes later, when striker Yattara came down to face and bounced the ball over the away goalkeeper's head into the net. Pau FC captain midfielder Antoine Batisse also started for the B team in this match, having just returned from a long-term injury. Batisse made a mistake that made the home team nearly equalize. Victory was only guaranteed for Pau B in the 85th minute, when Charles Boli passed Sonny Degert to score.

Quang Hai, Boli and Yattara all had time to start for the first team at the beginning of the season. However, recently the position is no longer guaranteed, so they went down to play for team B to maintain the feeling of competition. This is the first game Boli and Yattara play for Pau B this season.

Quang Hai's contract with Pau FC is valid until the end of June 2024. In the last 19 matches of the first team, he has only been on the field three times, playing a total of 25 minutes. Pau is 15th in Ligue 2, just two points above the relegation group. According to French experts, with the current situation, Pau will not create opportunities for players who are not qualified in the first team.
