Quang Hai asked to join the army late in the Vietnamese team
Quang Hai returned to Vietnam yesterday. But, because he was tired after a long flight and wanted to visit his family, he asked for permission to join the army late and was accepted by coach Philippe Troussier.
Two other players who are playing football abroad, Nguyen Cong Phuong and Nguyen Van Toan, have not yet joined the army. Cong Phuong returned to Vietnam from Japan on June 10, while Van Toan returned from Korea two days later.
Quang Hai is going through the most difficult period of his career, when he is not respected, leading to the decision to liquidate the contract with Pau FC a year early. Coach Troussier himself also admitted that, considering his performance, the 26-year-old midfielder does not deserve to be promoted, like Cong Phuong as well as some players playing in the V-League. However, the French military leader respects the qualifications and experience of these players and wants to give them the opportunity to boost their morale.
According to a source from MetaSports, Quang Hai has reached a preliminary agreement with a team playing in the V-League 2023 and is likely to sign a contract when he returns to Vietnam to focus on the team this time.
Today, the team has only 25 players. Some members are stuck playing the remaining matches of the 11th round of the V-League 2023. Coach Troussier therefore mixed the team and U23 together to forge troops. Before entering practice, he crossed out Nguyen Phong Hong Duy's name, because the doctors determined that he was injured and needed to rest for about two weeks. Coach Troussier let Hong Duy return to Nam Dinh Club for treatment, without calling additional people.
According to the plan, during the first training period from June 6 to June 13, Coach Troussier will combine the team forces and U23 in the same lesson plan. He will then analyze and select about 26 players for the first international friendly match against Hong Kong, which will take place on June 15 at Lach Tray Stadium.
The group of players who were not selected to continue to practice and will have two quality assessments, meet Hanoi Police Club on June 14 at PVF Center and Hai Phong Club on June 17 in Lach Tray. On the basis of the performance of the players in these two matches, combined with the assessment of the performance of the group of players competing against Hong Kong, coach Troussier will make a decision on the Vietnamese squad for the match. The second international friendly match against Syria on June 20 at Thien Truong Stadium, Nam Dinh.
