China PVF won 4-0 Aspire Academy - Qatar's leading youth football training center - in the final match of the group stage of the Shanghai Sao Mai U16 Champions Cup.

PVF caught on fast, and led the Aspire 3-0 after just 22 minutes of rolling. Nguyen Le Phat kicked a free kick from about 20 meters to open the score in the 10th minute, then joined his teammates to celebrate the goal in Cristiano Ronaldo's "Siu" style. This is the second table of this young talent.

In the 15th minute, Tran Gia Huy ran the ball on the left wing and poked the ball for Phung Quang Tu to escape and double the gap. Seven minutes later, Nguyen Le Phat pressed well to dribble the ball down close to the bottom of the line, then passed it back to Van Bach to score into an empty net.

In the second half, Aspire played better and created two dangerous opportunities, but goalkeeper Pham Huy Hoang both won in the face-to-face position. After 80 minutes of official play, PVF added a fourth goal in the first minute of compensation thanks to a solo phase through two players of Hoang Khanh, setting the score 4-0.

Aspire Academy was established in 2004, funded by the Qatar Government. The academy contributed greatly to the future success of Qatari football, including the 2019 Asian Cup and 2014 Asian U19 championships.

In 2011, Vietnam had former player Nguyen Thai Sung admitted to this academy. But after that, he could not progress, become a great player as expected and then retired at the age of 27.

In the match at the same time, Ulsan Hyundai beat Man City 4-1. This result helps PVF to rank second in Group A with six points, while Korean representative Ulsan Hyundai leads with three wins. Man City and Aspire ranked last with one point. In the first two matches, PVF lost to Ulsan Hyundai 1-2, then defeated Man City 2-1.

Shanghai Future Star Cup 2023 is a tournament for players born in 2007 or later, taking place in China from August 28 to September 3, with eight participating teams divided into two groups. Group A includes Man City, Ulsan Hyundai, PVF and Aspire (Qatar), Group B has Shanghai, Cerezo Osaka, Tottenham and Porto.
