PVF defeated Porto, won the bronze medal at the international U16 tournament

China After drawing 1-1 in 80 minutes of play, Vietnam's representative won 4-1 in the penalty shootout to win third place in the U16 Sao Mai Shanghai Champions Cup.

The match on the afternoon of September 3 was somewhat in favor of Porto. The team from Europe cooperated well and had good technique, constantly pressuring PVF. They even took the lead in the 7th minute.

However, missing the opportunity to end the opponent's hopes cost Porto. In the 43rd minute, Nguyen Le Phat poked a gap for Dao Quang Anh to enter the penalty area, stretch across the goal to Nguyen Sy Manh Dung buffer the ball to equalize 1-1 for the representative of Vietnam.

The rest of the time the two teams failed to create clear scoring opportunities. In the penalty shootout, Nguyen Quoc Khanh, Le Minh Nhat, Nguyen Sy Manh Dung and Tran Gia Huy successfully performed the first four series. Meanwhile, goalkeeper Pham Huy Hoang blocked two kicks in the first and third rounds, helping PVF win the final 4-1.

Shanghai Future Star Cup 2023 is a tournament for players born in 2007 and later, taking place in China from August 28 to September 3, with eight participating teams divided into two groups. Group A includes Man City, Ulsan Hyundai, PVF and Aspire (Qatar), Group B includes Shanghai, Cerezo Osaka, Tottenham and Porto.

In the group stage, PVF lost 1-2 to Ulsan Hyundai but won 2-1 against Man City and Aspire Academy 4-0. In the semi-finals, the team lost to Cerezo Osaka 1-4. Meanwhile, Porto drew 0-0 with selected team Shanghai, won 4-1 against Tottenham, lost 4-8 to Cerezo Osaka and 0-1 to Ulsan Hyundai in the semi-finals.

PVF Youth Football Training Center was established by Vingroup in December 2008. After a long time of using outsourced facilities, in 2017 the Center was built on a 20-hectare plot of land in Long Hung commune, Van Giang district, Hung Yen. In June 2022, the Center was transferred to the Ministry of Public Security, continuing the goal of finding, discovering, fostering and training young football talents.

This center has won more than 20 national youth tournament titles and won international youth tournaments eight times. PVF's first team, Hanoi Police, just won the V-LEague 2023 championship.
