PSG surprised when Real did not ask to buy Mbappe
This summer, because Mbappe refused to sign a contract extension to leave on a free basis in the summer of 2024, PSG decided to sell Mbappe to any team that meets the transfer fee of $ 272 million. The French club believes that this money is within the ability of Real to pay - the team Mbappe wants the most and also openly wants him. Last week, according to AS, the Qatari leaders of PSG flew to Paris to wait for a negotiation with Real, but the Spanish team did not move, and this surprised the PSG side.
If not moving to Real, Mbappe is likely to stay at PSG. On August 13, PSG announced Mbappe returning to the first team. According to Sky Sports, this is a signal that the 24-year-old striker can renew with PSG this summer. If that happens, Real will once again miss the opportunity to recruit Mbappe.
On August 20, Mbappe met privately with president Nasser Al-Khelaifi and Qatar owners. Here, PSG leaders sought to convince the French player with new terms. According to AS, the Qatari owners are optimistic after talking with Mbappe and believe that Al-Khelaifi will find a way to keep the 24-year-old superstar.
On July 21, PSG removed Mbappe from the list of Asian tours and put him on the transfer floor. This is the result of the 24-year-old striker refusing to renew his contract. PSG believe Mbappe has tacitly agreed on personal terms to join Real in the summer of 2024.
Many clubs scrambled for Mbappe when they heard that PSG wanted to sell. On July 23, Saudi Arabian club Al Hilal asked to buy a record price of 330 million USD and offered to pay Kylian Mbappe 775 million a year. PSG accepted this offer, but Mbappe did not agree to go to Saudi Arabia to play even for a year.
On August 12, after talking with the management, Mbappe returned to training and there was news that he would extend his contract. This information is even more grounded when the 24-year-old striker was introduced to the field in the 1-1 draw to Toulouse in the second round of Ligue 1. In this match, Mbappe scored the only goal for PSG on the 11m mark.
Although coach Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed that Real has no plans to buy more strikers in this transfer window, many newspapers believe that Real has not given up its intention to recruit Mbappe. However, the Spanish club wanted to pay a much lower price - $130 million - almost half of what PSG wanted.
According to Bild, the move was approved by Real's leadership in a meeting last week. Accordingly, Real will send an offer to PSG at the latest on August 29 to put pressure on the French club before the transfer window closes at the end of September 1.
