PSG sold Neymar for nearly 100 million USD

According to L'Équipe (France), Neymar will sign for two years with Al-Hilal and earn a total of $175 million from this contract. The Brazilian striker will become one of the highest paid players in the Saudi Pro League.

In fact, Neymar's salary will only be lower than Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema. Ronaldo is being paid by Al Nassr about 200 million USD a year, similar to what Benzema receives from Al-Ittihad.

Al-Hilal has booked a medical examination with Neymar in Paris and will conduct this procedure today after agreeing with PSG on the transfer fee of the Brazilian striker. Previously, the French club agreed to let the Brazilian striker leave this summer. Neymar belongs to a group of five players outside of coach Luis Enrique's plans, along with Marco Verratti, Hugo Ekitike, Juan Bernat and Renato Sanches.

Neymar has not played since March, after undergoing knee ligament surgery. The 31-year-old striker is said to want to return to his old club Barca - which has witnessed his peak years. However, this wish is difficult to come true because of a generous offer from Al-Hilal. The Spanish press also ruled out the possibility that the Saudi club would lend Neymar to Barca.

After PSG offered to let Neymar go last week, many European clubs contacted the French champion. However, Al-Hilal quickly stepped in and made an offer that was difficult to refuse. To date, Neymar still holds the record for the most expensive transfer in history when he moved from Barca to PSG for $ 263 million in 2017.

Neymar has never regained the form he was playing for Barca. His best record with PSG is 28 goals in the 2017-2018 season, 11 goals less than the best record at the old team. Neymar won five Ligue 1, three French Cups, two French League Cups and three French Super Cups, but only reached the final of the 2019-2020 Champions League. Despite being Enrique's former student at Barca, the Brazilian player was still put into liquidation by PSG.
