The United States entered the green about 1.2 meters from the hole, but it took Corey Conners three strokes to finish, in the second round of the Texas Open on March 31.

Conners started on the 10th hole. After six holes, he was in the even par round and the score was -8. On the par3 16 hole, 198 yards long, the Canadian golfer hit the pennant six yards, but the ball was still on the green. After the first putt, he was 1.2 meters away from the target. However, Conners from there did not finish the hole, when the second putter rolled the rim, on the right of the litigant. The third time, 0.6 meters away, still rolling the rim, this time on the left. Conners finished on the fourth putt, closer than the previous one. So he scored a double bogey on hole 16. Then, on hole 17, Conners scored a bogey resulting from a hit in the bushes to the left of the fairway.

However, from the 18th hole to the end of the game, Conners scored three birdies and no bogey to close the even par round, scoring -8.

The second stage of the 2023 Texas Open has half of the list left unfinished due to the backlog in round 1, when the fog made the opening day behind schedule. Therefore, Conners after the second game temporarily stood at T2 while the top of the table at -11 belonged to Patrick Rodgers.

Yesterday, Rodgers hit a total of 23 holes including five birdies in the last six holes to rise to the top.

Conners is 31 years old this year, one year older than Rodgers. On the world professional men's golf table, Conners is 40th, 103 places above Rodgers.

Conners is also ahead of his American counterparts in terms of PGA Tour performance. In this arena, Conners has passed 152 tournaments, including the first place in the Texas Open 2019, while Rodgers has not won the cup through 234 tournaments. Conners' gross prize money now stands at $14.12 million, $4 million more than Rodgers.
