In the men's singles, if they pass the first round, young talent Nguyen Hai Dang will meet compatriot Le Duc Phat in the second round. Duc Phat went straight to the second round because his opponent withdrew. Meanwhile, Nguyen Tien Minh is in another bracket, not having to meet the home players, but also facing many strong opponents.
