NBA transfers: Latest updates on Damian Lillard, Miami Heat and Portland Trail Blazers
Damian Lillard still maintains his stance on his desire to leave the Portland Trail Blazers and be traded to another team. The destination he chose was the Eastern champion Miami Heat.
Reputable journalist Shams Charania said the seven-time All-Star defender will only report to the Heat's Training Camp or accept to stay with the Blazers. He has no intention of wearing any other team's colors than these two teams

Regarding negotiations between Miami Heat and Portland Trail Blazers, the two sides have restarted negotiations around Damian Lillard to try to find common ground.
The Athletic website added that the two teams want to promote negotiations to complete the exchange deal (if possible) before the 2023-24 season starts.
Miami's most recent offer to Portland in July included Sixth Man of The Year Tyler Herro, 3-4 first round picks and attached a young player.
But because they had no intention of taking Herro to fill the conflict in the defender group, the Blazers still agreed and wanted a third partner to participate in the exchange.

One point to note is that according to Bleacher Report journalist Chris Haynes, there is a bottleneck in the negotiations between the two teams: "Miami Heat believes that the Portland Trail Blazers are not fully cooperating in negotiations."
The Heat want to know what the Blazers need in exchange for Damian Lillard, but through many interactions, they still do not have an exact answer.
“The Miami Heat believe that the negotiation process will be expedited if they know exactly what the Blazers want. This is the main bottleneck that caused negotiations to come to a standstill last summer," journalist Chris Haynes shared on the podcast.

Although they really want the services of Damian Lillard, Miami Heat is patient and not in a hurry in this deal. Time pressure is probably more on Dame and Portland Trail Blazers side.
Both Lillard and his parent team have their own intentions for the new season. If they do not find a common voice soon, both Damian Lillard and the Portland team will be in a difficult position at the beginning of the 2023-24 NBA season.
