The incident involving this All-Star defender Ja Morant happened in the summer of 2022 and has just been revealed in detail by the Washington Post.

Ja Morant is one of the brightest young stars in the NBA at the moment with many notable achievements. He has just made it to the All-Star team, owns a custom shoe with Nike and is the highest-selling Memphis Grizzlies player of the 21st century.

But in a series of unfortunate events recently revealed by the Washington Post with evidence from the police, Ja Morant and a few close friends got involved in two violent incidents, one of which was also related to gun.

Both took place in less than a week, specifically in the summer of 2022 and caused Morant to be summoned by the police to take testimony for the investigation.

Two incidents were noted by the Washington Post as follows:

The victim of this beating and threatening, who has not been named, is a high school basketball player who lives near Ja Morant's home (Shelby County, Tennessee).

He told police that while performing the 'check-ball' movement, he passed the ball to Morant but due to his hand slipping, Morant was hit in the face by the ball.

The Memphis Grizzlies player saw this as an act of aggression and reacted to the opponent. Morant himself admitted to the police: "I was the first to punch, but this was an act of self-defense."

It should be further noted that the police department did not charge Ja Morant in both cases due to "insufficient evidence." The Washington Post wrote that police had summoned and called on witnesses to testify, however. No one showed up so the investigation could not continue.

Morant's representative, Jim Tanner, has just shared the following: "The incident that happened in July last year was purely self-defence. I also want to reiterate that everything has been investigated by the police agency and concluded that Ja Morant has not been charged with anything."

Morant personally and the Memphis Grizzlies club have not spoken or commented on this.

WHAT IS THIS STORY REAL?

According to a summary of the Washington Post, the family of the 17-year-old young man accused Ja Morant and his friends of violence and threats with guns. However, this young man was the first aggressor, specifically before the headshot took place.

Information from many parties shows that the 17-year-old boy confronted Morant and showed signs of temper. The two sides "trash-talk" and exchanged words during the competition. The overflow is the act of throwing a very strong ball towards Morant when performing a check-ball (which is a light pass). Security cameras showed that Morant was approached harshly, so he "defended" by hitting back.

As for Ja Morant, he reacted a bit too much and confirmed his behavior. Ja told police that the young man had repeatedly intended to harass him and "trashtalk" while playing basketball. Although he admitted hitting people, Morant said it was still an act of self-defense. However, police confirmed that Ja entered the house and came out with a gun.

The police agency has received a total of 2 charges against Ja Morant. Both were involved in violent behavior and the Grizzlies player had to appear twice for investigation.

Regarding the case of the 17-year-old youth, the police have summoned witnesses to gather more information. However, no one appeared but the three people directly involved in the incident, so the police ended the investigation due to insufficient evidence.
