NBA In-Season Tournament: New trophy to compete for 30 NBA teams
This cup competition model is inspired by the top football leagues in Europe, intersecting with the Regular Season lasting 82 games according to the traditional model of the NBA.
Despite receiving mixed reviews, the NBA In-Season Tournament is still included by Adam Silver next season, explaining that "innovation always takes time to get used to".

_ 30 NBA teams will be divided into 6 groups, each East and West will have 3 tables. Each group consists of 5 teams.
_ Each team will play 4 group stage matches (2 home matches, 2 away matches) against the teams in the group. These group stage matches will take place on Wednesdays and Saturdays in November.
After the group stage, 8 teams will advance to the quarterfinals. This group includes 6 top teams of 6 groups, 1 group runner-up with the best performance in the East and 1 second-place team with the best performance in the West.
_ The quarter-finals will take place on December 5 and December 6 (the venue has not been announced). Particularly, the series of semi-finals and finals will take place on December 8 and December 10 in Las Vegas.
_ The prize for the winning team is that each player will receive 500,000 USD, equivalent to nearly 12 billion VND. The second-placed team is also awarded 200,000 USD for each player, equivalent to about 4.8 billion VND.

Eastern - Group A: Philadelphia 76ers, Cleveland Cavaliers, Atlanta Hawks, Indiana Pacers, Detroit Pistons
East - Group B: Milwaukee Bucks, New York Knicks, Miami Heat, Washington Wizards, Charlotte Hornets
Eastern - Group C: Boston Celtics, Brooklyn Nets, Toronto Raptors, Chicago Bulls, Orlando Magic
West - Group A: Memphis Grizzlies, Phoenix Suns, Los Angeles Lakers, Utah Jazz, Portland Trail Blazers
West - Group B: Denver Nuggets, Los Angeles Clippers, New Orleans Pelicans, Dallas Mavericks, Houston Rockets
West - Group C: Sacramento Kings, Golden State Warriors, Minnesota Timberwolves, Oklahoma City Thunder, San Antonio Spurs

Thus, each team still plays 82 Regular Season matches as usual, not more and not less than every year. All of these cup matches are counted as winning and losing records to serve the Regular Season ranking.

The only exception is the championship match on December 10. The result of this final match will not be counted in the winning or losing record of the two teams in the Regular Season.
