NBA All-Star Draft results 2023: LeBron chooses "super big", Giannis specializes in long throws

With the competition format changed from 2018, the annual NBA All-Star Game (ASG) match is no longer a competition between the East and the West.

Instead, fans and experts will find two captains (who have the highest number of votes in each region). These two captains will select All-Star players for their teams, creating the NBA All-Star Draft event.

This year, another interesting change came when the Draft was held just 3 hours before the NBA All-Star 2023 game, creating an image like a basketball court or movement.

Two captains, LeBron James and Giannis Antetokounmpo, took turns choosing teammates from the NBA All-Star group of players. As the one with the highest number of votes, LeBron was picked 1st in the starting line-up, and Giannis was picked 1st in the reserve group.

To avoid having players embarrassed by being in the final pick, the NBA has added a last-minute change to put the draft reserve team first, then the final selection phase.

With the first pick of the entire event, Giannis Antetokounmpo chose Damian Lillard over teammate Jrue Holiday, surprising both LeBron James and the fans. In response, the "king" used the second pick to bring back young talent Anthony Edwards.

In the second round, LeBron James was the captain with the first pick. He chose bigman Joel Embiid to strengthen the inner ring, creating a "super giant" squad.

Giannis Antetokounmpo also did not fit when deciding to bring in Jayson Tatum, a player who had just entered the history of the Boston Celtics with 1000 3-pointers.
