Mr. Nguyen Van Quan, representative of the Nam Dinh Football Fan Association, was heartbroken but had no choice but to decide to dissolve because of the unknowns in the home team's competition.

Going into regular operation since 2013, the Nam Dinh Fan Association experienced many ups and downs with the team, especially when returning to the V-League 2018. Nam Dinh club often had to race for relegation, even sometimes owed player salaries. . The fan association used to have to donate money from its members, receiving 50 million dong, to reward players.

From 2022, Nam Dinh Club has a new sponsor, helping players improve their lives, buying many quality rookies to compete for high positions. After phase I, Nam Dinh entered the championship group. Before the match against the Hanoi Police on August 2, they still had the opportunity to compete, but suddenly changed eight positions in the starting lineup and had actions that were considered to be lacking in positive spirit leading to failure. defeated 1-2.

Fans at Thien Truong Stadium immediately reacted strongly by throwing drums on the field, burning shirts right in the match. On the morning of August 3, Nam Dinh Fan Association returned a large number of free club shirts, by summarizing and placing it in front of the door of the director's office of Nam Dinh Green Steel Joint Stock Company.

On the evening of August 9, the official fan association of Nam Dinh Club announced its dissolution. Mr. Quan, representative of the Executive Committee of the Council and in charge of communications, said that before August 2, no one thought this could happen, but the defeat to the Hanoi Police ruined everything. He called it the peak of frustration and humiliation. "When the stomach is full but the spirit goes down, it's really sad," Mr. Quan told MetaSports this afternoon on August 10.

During the past week, Mr. Quan and members of the Association's Executive Committee thought a lot. When the mentality of the key members calmed down, the Association held a meeting, but when it was proposed to dissolve, all the members present were unanimous. "When trust is gone, we cannot continue," he said. "We can come back but we don't know when, maybe until the football club is really dedicated, so beautiful, so clean."

Besides, the fact that the Fans' Union wants to have a dialogue, but the club has been quiet all this time, also makes the relationship between the two sides become loose. "Maybe they don't dare to meet the fans, maybe they don't think it's necessary," Quan said. "We have also returned the office at Thien Truong yard. Thank you to the club for supporting the Association to have a decent place to work for many years."

In the fifth round of phase II V-League 2023, Nam Dinh lost 0-2 to Hai Phong as a guest at Lach Tray Stadium. Stand B still witnessed Nam Dinh fans present to cheer. Mr. Quan said each person has the right to freely go cheering because they love it and no one can stop it. Nam Dinh Fan Association is dissolved, so it will not hold big events such as cheering at home, renting a car to "fire" away... In addition, the association will hand over the office located at Thien Truong Stadium. for the stadium management board, not keeping the fanpage name as Nam Dinh Football Supporters Association, but changing it to "Nam Dinh Football Past and Present".

Nam Dinh's last home match this season is against Ha Tinh in round 7 of phase II V-League 2023 on August 27. "I think stand B will be empty, but there are still many other people coming to the field," Quan said. "We are just a group, not representing the whole province. But I think Thien Truong will be very sad."
