Mr. Mai Duc Chung is the typical coach of the year

The General Department of Physical Education and Sports held the election of Outstanding Athletes and Coaches of the Year, today 29/12. According to the votes of journalists who follow the sports field across the country, Mr. Mai Duc Chung won in the category for coaches. The head coach of the Vietnamese women's team got 618 points, just one more point than Mr. Tran Van Sy, the athletics coach of Thanh Hoa unit.

Mr. Chung and the Vietnamese women's team successfully defended the 31st SEA Games gold medal. The team then won tickets to the World Cup, which will take place in early 2023 in Australia and New Zealand.

Coach Park Hang-seo also appeared in the list of typical coaches of the year. The Korean leader helped Vietnam U22 win the SEA Games gold medal for the second time in a row with 428 points, ranking fourth.

In the category for athletes, Nguyen Thi Oanh won convincingly. The running leg of the singles was beaten by Bac Giang with 1,638 points, 350 points more than the second runner-up, fisherman Nguyen Huy Hoang. This year, Nguyen Thi Oanh excellently won three gold medals at the 31st SEA Games, four gold medals at the National Sports Festival, and at the same time broke a national record and a congress record.

In the list of 10 typical athletes, there are two football players. Captain Huynh Nhu of the women's team ranked third with 624 points, while captain Do Hung Dung of the men's team ranked 8th with 432 points.
