Modric believes that Mbappe may still come to Real Madrid in the future
"We all thought Mbappe would come. That didn't happen, and now? Well, we wouldn't be that hard on him," Modric confirmed.

According to Modric, the decision to stay at PSG is Mbappe's right. The French striker is only 23 years old and can still join Real Madrid in the future. "Who knows what will happen tomorrow, let alone the football matches in the next three or four years? Only time will tell," Modric stressed.
In May, Mbappe suddenly "turned around" when he renewed his contract with Paris Saint-Germain until 2025. Prior to that, both Real Madrid and the media believed the 23-year-old would join the Bernabeu on a free transfer this summer.
In order to keep Mbappe, Paris Saint-Germain raised their salary to $52 million per season. Parc des Princes' "No. 7" also received a £ 190 m bonus for its decision to stay and 100% personal brand ownership.
In the summer of 2021, Real Madrid recruited David Alaba only on a free transfer and paid $36 million for 19-year-old midfielder Eduardo Camavinga. However, the result far exceeded expectations, when Real Madrid won La Liga and the Champions League.
According to Modric, the greatest credit goes to Ancelotti, who also returned to replace Zidane. Judging by his successful experience between 2013-2015, the Italian coach quickly built a team with depth. On that basis, players Vinicius, Karim Benzema, Ferran Mendy and Ed Militao all made "makeovers" compared to previous seasons.
"Ancelotti brought calm, stability and created an environment of mutual trust and confidence in everyone's strength," Modric said.
