MetaSports Marathon Imperial Hue took place in April 2022, attracting 4,700 athletes. This is the second time the tournament has been held in Hue after 2020, expanding in both scale and organization.

Runner competes in 4 distances of 5, 10, 21 and 42km with green and ancient running routes through the inner city and expanding and new urban areas. The track is flat, the temperature is only about 20 degrees Celsius, creating a successful professional tournament when many runners set personal records. In which, female champion Pham Thi Hue also broke the record of the MetaSports Marathon system with a time of 2 hours 50 minutes 33 seconds.

The event took place on the day of Hung King's death anniversary, which is considered a milestone to help "warm up" the tourism industry in Thua Thien - Hue province after two years of the pandemic. It is estimated that more than 10,000 tourists come to Hue on this occasion, bringing in billions of VND in revenue. Through the tournament, the organizers also introduced a series of famous landmarks of the ancient capital to runners at home and abroad. Many places such as the Citadel and the king's tombs are free to visit for athletes and members of the tournament organizing committee.

In 2023, MetaSports Marathon Imperial Hue will continue to be held with an expected scale of 7,000 people, taking place on April 16. On December 27, the organizers conducted a road survey and will announce changes in the new season with the goal of turning the event into a large-scale international sport activity, stimulating local tourism demand. direction.
