MetaSports Marathon Hue 2023 Short Distance Champions

MetaSports Marathon Hue welcomes the 10km champion of the men's group - Vanh Long Ring (Lam Dong) at 5:30. After the finish line, Long said that he did not lose too much strength and enjoyed running this year. The most impressive is the starting point through Ngo Mon and running on Truong Tien bridge - one of the symbols of Hue.

Choosing the strategy of running faster and faster, Long started slowly but gradually accelerated in the next leg. Thanks to that, the runner does not lose too much strength, maintains durability and is quite far from the runner-up. However, it rained lightly, so the road was a bit slippery, sometimes making it difficult for athletes born in 2003.

Long has been with the marathon for more than a year now - after competing in the cross-country competition at school, he was noticed by his teachers and put on the provincial team. Jogging helps Long gain more health, each time conquering a new achievement, he has more confidence and joy. For the third time participating in the MetaSports Marathon, Long affirmed that he will continue to participate in the following seasons because the track gives him a lot of fun, the opportunity to meet friends and learn from veteran athletes.

In the women's group, the first finisher is Nguyen Thi Thanh Xuan (Hanoi). Runner born in 1992 first came to the MetaSports Marathon and Hue, proud of his achievements. Xuan said she was surprised when she came first because on the track, she and the female runner-up competed very closely.

The female athlete remembers most when running on Truong Tien Bridge, when she is immersed in the flow of people running 21km. "At that time, I suddenly felt enthusiastic, more motivated to reach the finish line, the atmosphere was indescribable," said Xuan.

The secret of the female champion is to stay happy, not pressured about achievements. On the run, she maintains a 4:30 pace, regular breathing, and refills water at the stations. The athlete said he had just run for the first time but fell in love with the MetaSports Marathon. In addition to challenging himself, training, and prizes, Xuan helps Xuan connect with the sports-loving community and discover new localities. "I set a goal this year to participate in more MetaSports marathons. Whenever I meet anyone, I invite you to run, one is to be with Thanh Xuan, the other is not to lose Thanh Xuan," she said.

At the distance of 5km, Tong Nguyen Gia Hung won the men's championship. Hung said he was happy when he won, marking the "overcoming himself". The most impressive thing of the runner is the beautiful scenery of Hue, the enthusiastic support from the organizers. Joining the MetaSports Marathon for the second time with Hung is still full of emotions. He aims to continue to set high results in the following tournaments.

The first finish line in the women's group was Dinh Thi Kim Phuong (Son Tay, Quang Ngai). Born in 2009, Phuong is one of the youngest runners on the track. Runner is also a student of the 42km women's champion - Pham Thi Binh. This year's achievement brought the "barefoot queen" to win the MetaSports Marathon for the second time. Phuong said teacher Pham Thi Binh has also been her idol for many years.

Three years ago, when she achieved good results in the school competition, Kim Phuong was taken to the Quang Ngai Sports Training Center by her teachers. The center is 100 km away from home, and they can only go home once every three weeks, so at first, parents prevented and worried that their little daughter was away from home. But for the love of running, Phuong begged her parents to let her go to school. After many weeks of persistently whispering, in 2021, I will officially join the team.

Talking about the first time participating in the race, the 5km female champion said: "My favorite moment is the moment of finishing, Ms. Pham Thi Binh was waiting and praised and congratulated. Hue running track is also beautiful and cool, she You can run and enjoy the scenery at the same time."

MetaSports Marathon Hue 2023 is the third time the tournament is held in the Ancient Capital. Compared to the previous season, the number increased from 4,700 to 10,500. The distance of 42km starts at the earliest, at 3 o'clock. The distances of 21, 10 and 5km start at 4h, 5h and 5h30 respectively. The athletes gathered in the area of ​​Le Duan Street, the intersection with Nguyen Trai, ran through many ancient inner city roads, lined with green trees before reaching the finish line on To Huu Street.
