Two reverse defeats in three sets at the hands of Andrey Rublev and Stefanos Tsitsipas made Medvedev a former ATP Finals champion. In the last match on November 18, Rublev and Tsitsipas will fight to find the owner of the second semi-final ticket to the semi-finals, after Novak Djokovic.

Medvedev has a great chance to beat Tsitsipas, leading 5-4 and serving in the deciding set. However, the mistake in the key game caused the Russian player to be equalized by the opponent. "I feel like I've been reborn," said Tsitsipas after escaping the loss. "When he served in the deciding game, I felt like I still had a chance if I could return it. It was great to end the game with such a comeback."

Reasonable tactics help Tsitsipas compete fairly with Medvedev. The Greek tennis player did not let the opponent promote his forte of endurance. He hit the net as soon as he got the chance, and won 36 of the 45 points in the net the whole game.
