Many famous golfers just passed The Open 2023
The Open cut-off point is determined according to the principle of taking the top or T70, this period is at +3 when the second round ends on the evening of July 21 (Hanoi time). And so, the competitor below that limit must forfeit the tournament. Yesterday, all 156 hands came from hole 1.
Scheffler was right on the line thanks to a close birdie on the 18th hole, from a bunker escape on the starboard front of the green. This is also where Koepka hit the hole limit and scored a double bogey, bringing the score down to +3.
The last hole also saw Cantlay, Fowler and Harrington all hold par, so with +3 to win the ticket to the full tournament while defending champion Cameron Smith took the birdie, thus moving to T39 with a score of +2. Group +3 ranked T62, including 2016 Masters owner Danny Willett while the top +10 group belonged to Brian Harman with a five-stroke advantage over second place – Tommy Fleetwood.
"Parking at the filter point" is an unworthy half-way result for five golfers who have a formidable record in top golf.
Scheffler is at the top of the world professional golf table (OWGR), three places above Cantlay. Considering the major quartet, Scheffler holds the Masters 2022, Koepka has won five times at the US Open and PGA Championship from 2017 to now.
And Harrington has won The Open twice and added the PGA Championship both in the period 2008-2008. Cantlay and Fowler have not won the prestigious cup. But on the PGA Tour, Cantlay has been crowned eight times, once the king of the arena when holding the 2021 FedEx Cup, then won the "excellent golfer". Along with the US first-place system, Fowler won six titles, including The Players, with the tacit position of the fifth major.
The Open was born in 1860, chaired by Royal & Ancient (R&A), this year in the 151st tournament with a prize fund of 16.5 million USD, of which the championship is 3 million USD.
