Man Utd lost to Real in Onana's first match
*Score: Bellingham 6', Joselu 89'.
An early goal, a late goal helped Real win the second friendly match in a row. Rookie Jude Bellingham opened the scoring by bouncing the ball over Onana's head, from central defender Antonio Rudiger's long pass. And Joselu sealed the game with an equally beautiful goal when he leaned back to hook the ball into the net after Lucas Vazquez's cross.
Bellingham impressed the most in the match when he was awarded 7.5 points by the British Daily Mail. And Spanish newspaper Marca said that the match was a stage for Real's $110 million rookie to perform. Real midfield with the quartet of Aurelien Tchouameni, Luka Modric, Eduardo Camavinga and Bellingham controlled the game better than Man Utd with Casemiro, Kobbie Mainoo, Mason Mount and Bruno Fernandes.
Not only failure, Man Utd also received bad news when 18-year-old midfielder Mainoo was injured and soon left the field to give way to Christian Eriksen. Mainoo is the latest young player to play regularly with the first team, which is expected to be used more this season.
This is the first time goalkeeper Onana has started for Man Utd, and there are times when he rises to the midfield line during the match. The Cameroonian goalkeeper was also confident in keeping the ball when he was approached by the opposing striker, bringing new situations compared to his predecessor David de Gea. At two goals conceded, it's hard to blame Onana when Bellingham and Joselu shot too well.
After this match, Carlo Ancelotti's teachers and students continued to stay in Texas to meet Barca on the evening of July 29 in Arlington. And Man Utd will go to Las Vegas to play against Dortmund.
